Internship and placement year programmes
These programmes combine in-depth training with challenge and responsibility to form the foundation for a lasting, rewarding career.
The applications for our 2017 programmes have now closed. Applications for our 2018 programmes will open in September 2017.
Next year's programmes are scheduled to run from:
Internship dates: end of June - mid-August 2018
Tech Industrial Placement programme dates: end of June 2018 - end of June 2019
Just like every investment at Schroders, our investment in future talent is long-term and in-depth. Internships always start with a detailed introduction to investment management. This is closely followed with leading technical training and a valuable grounding in interpersonal skills.
But it's not just about formal learning. Interns work alongside experienced professionals on real projects that are critical to our business. And they are all part of an intern group project taht they go on to present to senior leaders at the end of the programme. A series of social events, lunches and networking opportunities help build contacts with Schroders' people up, down and across the business. And by the close of the programme, interns have a good picture of our industry, a broad understanding of our firm and clear ideas about the career they'd like to build.
Who we're looking for
All applicants must be ambitious, resilient and energetic. You'll need to show us you're a self-starter with ambition and a willingness to get involved.
Your academic record is one of the ways we'll asses you. We're open to whatever subject you're studying, but you'll need to be in your penultimate year at university and predicted to gain a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent, or a final year student planning to study for a Masters after the internship.
For the placement year as part of a university degree, we are open to candidates stuyding any discipline, but we do expect a strong academic background along with a passion for technology and analysis.
Our internships cover a number of areas. These include Investment, Real Estate, Sales & Marketing, Wealth Management, Accounting & Finance, Technology, and Risk & Compliance. We also offer an industrial placement year in our well-respected Global Technology division.
Spring Insight Day
Every April we open our doors to first year students eager to explore the opportunities and possibilities of investment management. The Insight Day is your chance to discover our business, how it serves commerce and society, and the careers we offer. Whether you already have an ambition to work in finance, or are unclear where your passions lay - this is a valuable opportunity to get ahead.
Applications for the 2017 Spring Insight Day are closed. Check back here in autumn 2017 for next year's dates.
